Cleaning Up After the Taliban

The media seem determined to whitewash the horrors of the Taliban. Why do they embrace the enemies of civilisation?

Cleaning Up After the Taliban

I was going to get through tonight’s show without reference to the debacle in Afghanistan.  My rationale was that I have nothing positive to say and I don’t want to diminish the service of our men and women who were part of the 20 year war.

$12 aussies lost their lives, many more were wounded and some will wear the physical and emotional scars of that service for the rest of their lives. They did us proud.

But now, despite all we did, the cowardly Afghani army couldn’t even be bothered to fight for their own country. The president apparently fled with hundreds of millions in cash ‘for the good of the country’.

More lies from another political crook.

The Taliban are back in control and one poll shows that a majority of Afghans are happy to live under sharia law. Good luck to them. If that's the case, they’ll get what they deserve.

What is extraordinary though, is how the western media, who repeatedly demonstrate their contempt for their own culture, have embraced the regime change.

Here’s Clarissa Ward from where else but CNN.

And a reminder that Twitter has banned Donald Trump but let’s the Taliban enjoy some free speech.

How quickly some forget the mercy and goodness of these barbarians. Here they are treating some surrendering soldiers.

I also haven’t heard any of the western media lecture the Taliban about the importance of masks or some shrieking Karen telling them to social distance.

Instead, the Taliban have given the media a lecture on hypocrisy.

So while many fourth estate fifth columnists relish the effective defeat of the United States by this band of medieval barbarians, the Taliban will not be a force for good in the world.

And when, as inevitably it will, the hard stuff really does hit the fan, there’ll be no one to answer the call to clean up the mess.
