Decency Abandoned

Decency Abandoned

Like Alice through the looking glass, politics gets ‘curiouser and curiouser’ where it’s not only ‘good English’ that gets forgotten.

Unfortunately, civility and common decency seem to have been abandoned in the modern political era.

Words are used and abused by the opportunistic Humpty Dumpties in parliament who subscribe to the theory “When I use a word…it means just what I choose it to mean – neither more nor less.”

How else can the views of everyday Australians be called ‘hate speech’ by the Greens yet their own poisonous diatribe is good for Australia?

Their rancid and hypocritical stances are fake news and phony politics.

It wouldn’t really matter, except they are now seeking to criminalise ‘hate speech’.

Under their twisted world view, Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young would jail Coalition Minister Peter Dutton for ‘vile homophobia’, joined by columnist Miranda Devine for challenging refugee policy.

In her hypocritical world I’d soon be joining them, no doubt, in the non-gender specific green gulag.

Of course it’s not only the churlish Green from South Australia lumped in the hypocrisy basket.

She is joined by most of her colleagues who at times have decried the Murdoch press as the hate media, Sky News as broadcasting ‘hate-speech’, criticism of Islam as ‘racist’ hate-speech … and on and on it goes.

Gender, sex, skin colour, age, beliefs, political views, economic policy – it doesn’t matter what – in the Greens dystopian world of unreality, if you disagree with them, it is hate speech.

Don’t you just hate that?

I know I do but it’s not that different on the polar opposite of politics. It’s another world where it doesn’t matter what you have said, or what you have done, if you decide it’s fake news, then it is.

As the major parties continue to disappoint, despondent voters throw a vote to the unprincipled extremes of Aussie politics as a means of venting their anger.

It doesn’t matter that the radical left or alt-right don’t have practical and sensible solutions to urgent problems. It doesn’t matter that they are neither consistent nor truthful in their public statements.

The only thing that matters is which pack you’re running with.

Regrettably, the consequences of this dangerous polarisation of politics will eventually matter to us all.

Like many readers, I think politics is failing our nation and that neither the blue team nor the red team have got it right.

The place to change that is through the Senate – but team green and team orange can’t be trusted there either.

More of the same is not an option. We need courageous people in parliament who will do the right thing, despite the baying of the pack.

We need Senators who will put the country and the people first.

We can’t afford to entrust our nation to the radical fringe.

It’s time to join the voices and voters of common sense and support integrity, accountability, transparency and honesty. It’s the only way to make Australia stronger and safer.

Things that make you go Hmm…

Tasmania suspends reality …  that’s gratitude for you and a tacky taco take-away. This college has a PC bite-back and when facts ain’t facts, Aussie food musk make Swedes crazy.

Kids hit the mental mother lode, here’s the thing about leggings plus the high price of childcare. We have a wealth of public holidays, plus name dysphoria with Eddie’s hot take on coin tosser. There’s one born every minute but who knows what gender they are? Especially when it comes to the Greens.
