The Fear Society

I was reading one of the many newsletters that I subscribe to when I came across this quote attributed to a dissident from the former Soviet Union.

“Can a person walk into the middle of the town square and express his or her views without fear of arrest, imprisonment, or physical harm? If he can, then that person is living in a free society. If not, it’s a fear society.”

While he may have been talking about the tyranny of the former Communist State, the comment is just as applicable to our State today.

We live in a fear society and every indication is that it is getting worse.

We've had Catholic Archbishops hauled before government tribunals for speaking in favour of marriage being an institution between a man and a woman.

The online magazine Reduxx was recently hit with a takedown notice from Australia's eSafety commissioner for referring to a male playing in a women's soccer league as a 'he'.

It's much the same all over the Western world.

In Ireland, the politicians are set to pass the most draconian 'hate speech' bill in the world.

The mere possession of 'hateful material' could result in jail time and the onus of proof is reversed. You are presumed guilty until proven innocent, even if you didn't communicate the forbidden content to anyone.

We've got similar nonsense happening in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.

The absurdity of the situation is summed up by a male councillor in Indiana.

Councilman Webb has identified as a 'lesbian woman of colour' and in doing so has outraged the alphabet mafia, who are clearly annoyed that the Councilman is neither a woman, a lesbian or black.

Now I happen to think Mr Webb is having a joke at the leftist's expense but why are his claims any more fantastical than the myriad other identification claims that woke warriors support?

Every one of them is asking us to suspend logic, reason and commonsense in order to accept something we know is simply not true.

Of course if you don't willingly go along with the falsehoods you could be arrested for participating in a 'hate crime'.

We no longer live in a free society.

Activists will assault those they disagree with. Businesses are looted and boycotted unless they comply with the zeitgeist. Politicians are sued for sharing their opinion on other's behaviour.

This is tyranny by the woke mob and it is being aided and abetted by the media and legislators.

The means of fighting back is refusing to comply with the demands.

We must use language as it was intended and apply it to males and females. We must conform to the science of biology. We must uphold empirical truths.

To do anything else is to support the regime that seeks to suppress us.

If enough of us refuse to be a cog in the wheel of wokeness, our non-compliance becomes sand in the gears and if there is enough of it, the entire momentum of the left will grind to a halt.
