One of the greatest frauds in history of the world has occurred in the science of climate change.
Most would be familiar with the claimed 'consensus' that 97% of scientists agree that man is responsible for climate change.
It's the quintessential appeal to authority and has been used by the fools on Twitter to the fools in the White House.
It's also a total lie. Here is how the fabrication evolved.
In 2009, the University of Illinois sent a survey online to about 10,000 scientists with the following two questions:
Question 1
Do you agree that global temperatures have generally risen since the pre-1800s?
Question 2
Do you think that human activity is a significant contributing factor?
Of the 10,000 surveys sent out, 3146 responses were received. That's a little over 31%.
Of the responses received, 90% said yes to the first question but 82% said yes to the second question.
Then the data massaging began.
They found that among the meteorologists who responded, more than one-third of them said NO to the second question!
That didn't support their agenda so they decided to ignore all the responses aside from the 77 people who described themselves as “climate experts”.
There was no proof of expertise required most likely because that 75 of the 77 said yes to the second question.
That's how they arrived at the 97% of scientist agree figure. It was based on a stacked survey and eventually limited to only 77 responses!
More broadly, it was only 2.3% of all those who did respond and a tiny 0.0075 percent of those sent a survey.
To put it another way, it is totally bogus and complete and utter BS.
And yet, the lie has been repeated again and again by the climate change movement. It's proof positive that a lie can spread around the world before the truth can even get its pants on.
