The Woke Hypocrites

Every week brings a new disillusionment with the mainstream media.

The recent insane reporting over marxists masquerading as human rights advocates have shredded their last vestige of credibility.

This past week has seen deceitful reporting of an American policeman shooting an ‘unarmed’ man: except for the inconvenient fact he was armed  with the policeman’s Taser, which he then fired at the policeman chasing him.

For the record, a Taser is considered a less-lethal force option than a firearm but it is still potentially lethal.

In Australia, there have been numerous reports of Aboriginals being arrested suggesting it is the product of ‘racist’ policing. In one case, the police were attempting to arrest a teenage offender but were prevented from doing so by a group of adults. Apparently that was racist too.

Apprehending law breakers isn’t racist but not applying the law to individuals because of their skin colour certainly is.

We have fallen so far from the Martin Luther King's vision of judging people on the content of their character rather than the pigment of their skin that the real problem today is those that condemn racism the loudest.

A couple of weeks ago I was doing my Sunday night Sky news show and one of the panellists was a senior Channel 10 reporter. She was on about the need to have diversity in the media.

Unfortunately she wasn’t interested in the battle of ideas and diversity of opinion. She was only interested in having different skin tones and identity spectrums appearing on your screen.

Even though I pointed out that her attitude was inherently racist, the point seemed lost on her.

This type of insanity is creeping into almost every facet of our lives.

The woke advocates  in the acting community now demand that only homosexual actors can play gay people and transexuals must fill any role representing a transexual.

Why stop there? Shouldn’t we ban atheists from portraying religious figures, or short people from pretending they are taller.

What about banning a gay actor from playing a straight character, or an aged 30 something actor pretending they are a teenager?   Should that be prohibited too?

The rush to ‘equality’ is perversely the most unequal of crusades and it is fuelled by hypocrites and useful idiots.

Just how dumb are they? Perhaps the following incident illustrates it best of all.

The American NASCAR organisation made a big song and dance about racism towards their only black race-car driver. An entire day of symbolism was devoted to supporting him because a ‘noose’ was found hanging in the garage of a venue he and his team were using.

Amid much media fanfare, the FBI were called in and blanket coverage of how terribly racist America was ensued.

After an investigation, it turns our the ‘noose’ was simply a cord with a loop that was used to pull the garage door down and had been there for many, many months.

As you can expect, that little factoid didn’t get quite the same media coverage as the original outrage. It just serves to reinforce the point that you should be sceptical of everything you see, read and hear presented as news by the mainstream media.
